Webrecorder 1.6.0

New: Added setting webAcccessible to the user preferences. This allows clients to specify if they want the recording to be stored on a web server. These recordings can be accessed via a URL making it easy to grab the FLV file for playing them back in another player or archiving them. There is a new parameter strWebAccessibleURL included in the notifyRecordingChange XML event that contains the URL to the video.

Reason For Outage - 3/12/07

On March 12th, 2007 at 5:10 PM PST our primary database server had 2 drive failures in quick succession that caused the loss of all data on that machine. We immediately started our disaster recovery from our tape backup which took approximately 3.5 hours. As of 8:40 PM PST, all services have returned to normal.

Affected systems:
- www.userplane.com
- Webmessenger and Webchat clients were mostly unaffected as db hits are only done during initial startup. So only new instance startups were affected
- Some recent Webrecorder files have been disassociated from the db. Please ask Userplane Support for more info if you feel you may be affected.

We have been in the process of moving all critical data services onto a fully redundant SAN with multiple redundant paths from hardware to the internet. Once this project is complete within the next 2 months, today's failure will be impossible.

XML Server IP Change: 6/20/06

Starting as soon as next Tuesday (6/20/06) we will be sending XML calls from an additional range of IP's. If you are restricting access to your XML file based on IP, please mail support@userplane.com for the list of IPs you will need to allow on your firewalls and/or app servers.

Webrecorder 1.5.0

New: Added videoSize parameter so you can specify recording sizes of 160x120, 320x240, or 640x480. There is also a much finer control of the AV bandwidth and framerate.
New: Made the player resizable to accomodate the new recording sizes.
New: Upgraded the HTML embedding code to increase simplicity, accomodate Microsoft ActiveX changes, and simplify flash detection.
New: Updated all XML to UTF-8

Webrecorder version 1.4.0: 2/9/2006

New: Added callID to all XML calls to enable your to keep track of duplicated XML calls (in case of error)
New: Added maxXMLRetries so that you can timeout your XML errors after N tries
New: Added allowCalls so you can turn off XML calls you are not using and therefore reduce the load on your app server
New: Added connection success and failure events to the JS events

Webrecorder version 1.3.1: 8/5/2005

New: Accepts connections before prefs loaded, disconnect those connections if server not authorized. Shuold speed up connect times when server is starting.
New: Added German locale
Bug Fix: Certain routers were keeping users connected even though disconnected, added code to clean up these users
Bug Fix: There were times that the recording's first frame was not showing up.

New: Added ability to restrict to audio only
New: Added client specified images for when camera is not allowed and when no Video is present in recording
